Hidden Programs In Windows XP

Is it strange to hear , but true that some good programs are hidden in Windows XP !!!

Programs :

1. Private Character Editor :

Used for editing fonts,etc.
** start>>Run
** Now, type eudcedit

2. Dr. Watson :

This an inbuilt windows repairing software !
** start>>Run
** Now, type drwtsn32

3. Media Player 5.1 :

Even if you upgrade your Media Player, you can still access your old player in case the new one fails !!!

Used to create SetupsYou can create your own installers !

To use this feature, you will need to be logged into your computer with administrative rights.

1. Go to Start > Run > type REGEDIT and hit enter. Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

2. Here in right side panel, right click to create a new DWORD value with the name NoViewContextMenu (it is case sensitive), then assign number 1 in value data box.

Adding the registry tweak above will disable mouse right click for ALL users. If you only want to disable for the current logged in user, you should add the registry tweak to HKEY_CURRENT_USER instead of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

Turn off My Recent Documents

Follow the steps  below:

1) Right-Click on the hour and select Properties.

2) Select the Start Menu tab select Customize onwards.

3) Select the Advance tab and uncheck the list on my most recently opened documents.

image

4) Press  ok.

5) Now run the file that you are no longer stored in the My Recent Documents.
